THE HISTORY OF AVIATION

aviation__003060_.jpg

In this recent era it is no more impossible for the human beings to fly like birds. Airplanes are the one of the transportation mediums that made it possible for us. In this recent time airplanes are the fastest transportation medium for public transportation, thus it is the most preferable in case of international tours. But the discovery of the airplanes was not so much easy; Wright bothers took the first endeavor to invent a means to fly like a bird and finally developed first airplane through a series of interesting scientific experiments. After a number of unsuccessful attempts, they made the history when Orville Wright took a flyer for 12 seconds flight covering 120 feet on 17th December, 1903. The history of the airplanes that is the story, how the airplane was developed first through a sequence of episodes of success and failure, is really interesting. UBUNTU LINUX

ubuntu-penguin.jpg

As for me, I prefer Linux more than Windows but I can not ignore Windows as it is one of the most famous operating systems. Really I can not degrade and abandon Microsoft Windows as it is really an extraordinary product but is vulnerable to computer viruses. May be the security of data is the main concern for the Windows users but the main reason behind it is its over growing popularity, that is why the viruses are being created targeting the windows operating system.

Beside of it, nowadays almost all (not all) facilities of Windows Operating System are available in Linux. Like windows an office software package, a set of multimedia applications, internet browsers, drivers etc nearly everything is available there. But the main problem is that here you can not run .exe files and in the recent time, most of the software packages are being produced targeting windows operating system. Here you need to install software packages like WINE etc to run .exe files. The main advantage that you will get is that, Linux operating system is well protected and not vulnerable to viruses, that is why you can browse the internet freely and don’t need to install any kind of antivirus software if you are using Linux platform.

The original UBUNTU Linux CD is available at free of cost. To get one do hit www.ubuntu.com . If you have a high speed internet connection then you can download the original software from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download.

THE ROADRUNNER, ANOTHER EPOCH MAKING BRAINCHILD OF IBM

 ibm-roadrunner-supercomputer.jpg

The supercomputer that has been developed under the project titled Roadrunner by IBM has grabbed the title fastest supercomputer of the world as it can perform more than 1000 trillion operations per second, twice as fast as the predecessor the Blue Gene system. The system has been developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Mexico for Mexico for the National Security Administration of US Department of Energy, uses open source Linux operating system as the platform and costs more than $100 million. It will be used for the security and the reliability of the US nuclear stockpile and for the research into energy, human genome science and climate change. To know more about this epoch making invention, do visit the official website of IBM, http://www.ibm.com. In addition to it you can have a glance on the following websites:
