Today is the valentine day, a day to celebrate the love that we feel from heart. In general, there can not be any set day in our calendars for love making as it is quite impossible but the valentine day is nothing but a special day to pay a special attention to our loves, to feel more for it.

I have a very nice short story in my collection that I heard from one of my school friends. It is a story about the valentine between a boy named Sunny and a girl Jinia.  They were childhood friends of each other. Sunny did not know when Jinia stated to love him seriously and to see him as a special one. Jinia used to speak “I Love You” very often but Sunny did not. He always used to present Jinia with a specific type of doll. It was very strange to Jinia, as her only intention was to hear “I LOVE YOU” from Sunny.

It was Jinia’s sixteenth birth day. Like other girls she also expected lots of phone calls, or heaps of well wishing messages from Sunny. But nothing came. She became quite upset. But she did not want to hold any grudge against him; she wanted to forget it, because she loves him. Later in the afternoon Sunny called her and requested to meet him. Jinia went. Sunny was present with a doll for her as usual. Jinia accepted the gift but requested him to say “I love you” to her at least for that day. Sunny refused. He replied he did not want to speak it in such an easy way.

After that incident Jinia got confused. She was thinking whether Sunny loves her or pretending to love her or playing a time game with her. Few days later they again decided to meet. Sunny told her to come to a nearby bus stop. After reaching there Jinia discovered Sunny was already there with a doll of same kind. She got irritated and threw away the doll. The only thing that she wanted to hear was “I love you” from Sunny, not these lifeless stuffs. Sunny got shocked and behaved strangely. He ran to pick the doll up from the middle of the road as if it was very precious to him. But a lorry was approaching. He was not in a condition to notice it. Few second later…

After that incident, Jinia confined herself in her own room. Although Sunny did not behaved with her properly, did not tell her that he loved her but she truly loved him and that was why it was quite impossible for her to forget him. May be she was indirectly responsible for his death, that hurt her greatly too. She often found it difficult to resist the tears. That was why she preferred to stay within her room and to spend most of the day there. She was thinking about the old days, taking the one of the dolls on her lap, that Sunny presented her when he was alive, as they evoked the memories of Sunny. Long long ago, how they became friends, how they enjoyed …etc any many more.  Suddenly she heard a voice, “I LOVE YOU”, the much wanted sentence that she always wanted to hear from Sunny, who is no more in this world, is no more with her. She discovered that whenever she pushes the stomachs of the dolls, then the voice is being generated. She lost her control; she was pressing the stomachs of the dolls repeatedly. She was unable to believe her ears, she became almost mad then. “I LOVE YOU…I LOVE YOU… I LOVE YOU…” sound filled the whole surrounding. That was the way, Sunny wanted to say her that he loves her but she did not notice that then. Everything was becoming faded in her eyes; tears began to roll down from her eyes.

The poor girl! Why did God play such a game with her…?
